Suncast Commercial Metal Platform Standard Reviews:
La Grande Vadrouille is a film not seen since 1965. All the scenes are memorable and drôlatiques. Not a fault. A game of perfect actor. A duo that works wonderfully. A film that has beautifully aged. This is no longer the case of the Visitors, Asterix or Chtis. As soon as received, and immediately watched it! Qelle wonder, I must say that, at 71 years of age I saw the film at the cinema, I saw it in vhs, dvd and there it is to ask yourself if it is really possible : beauty without the smudge of the colors (it must be said that the technicolor is for many), all the details are visible and the costumes, armor, jewelry, coat of the animals (ah, the black feathers on the horses Messala!!) everything is clean, everything is neat, a real resurrection, and I had the impression of seeing this film for the first time, viewed on a plasma of 160 cm, it is the home cinema..... Extraordinary Film that you can revisit and never get tired. This film is a lesson of tolerance and is very often used to support high-level training in management. What a pity that the director secene if inspired for this film have not done much more after... Attention.Cheap Suncast Commercial Metal Platform Standard:
As the film is a masterpiece, indisputable, among the best films of Kurosawa, as he must never lose sight of the fact that the edited version on this DVD by the Fox, as well as on the edition Z2 say 'collector' is an international version truncated in about 30 minutes. In addition, this edition, like the collector, proposes a technical quality, is dubious, for the image (cropped and without any re-mastering worthy of the name) as for the sound (VO 4. 0 as well as a spatialisation infects, or a VF 5. 1 without any opening). In short, go your way and catch up-you import via the edition Z1 from Criterion. Not only the bonus of the collector Z2 are taken back to their home, but Criterion offers a quality picture and sound more than enough, superior, and above all, the full version. Only limitation of this edition : it must be English because only English subtitles are offered. But, this is the condition to pass to be able to review this great classic in conditions worthy of the name.. Watched last night the double edition blu-ray : The rendering of the image is sublime, the details and backgrounds are incisive.Cheap Suncast Commercial Metal:
The film grain is noticeable in some scenes but not bothersome. The legendary stage where T E Lawrence is adorned in the outfit offered by Sheriff Ali : this pristine white and its gold appear like a mirage on this version... for the sound track : Vo 5. 1 DTSHDMa, big disappointment for the band main sound, with the beautiful music of Maurice Jarre remains largely mixed on the front speakers with few effects on the the rear : quite damaging to a sound track of the original 6-track stereo : a mix in a 6 or 7. 1 would have been more significant, if one compares the editions blu-ray some films of the same time possessed of sound sources to be lower. For the Vf, just in Dolby Digital 5. 1 in its short edition and still a very big disappointment. Far from being an edition 50th anniversary also perfect : The editor will have to do better for the next!!! for all the pseudo-directors "chébrans" (Klapish, Dany Ch'tis, and other) : to look at in the loop for know (taking into account all of the basics : story, scenario, mise en scene, choice of actors, epilogue,... the minimum!) how to make a comedy film that takes the road... more than 6 months. This film takes place in full golden age of american cinema and is the adaptation of a piece of theatre, successful Broadway.Best Buy Suncast Commercial Metal:
The story : two old ladies invite gentlemen homeless to find their home roof and covered. They poison, persuade them to do a good deed and bury it in the cage by a nephew, zany, which is taken to Napoleon. Landed then Mortimer, another nephew, who recently married and discovered the pot to the roses. He then has to juggle between the police, a band of gangster and his aunts. On the technical side, the picture is very beautiful and well restored. For the sound, not track French but subtitles. Very funny and rhythmic, without any dead time, this film is best enjoyed with always as much pleasure.. I've seen this movie many times, and I each time found the same feeling to come near the perfect film. It is simple. For me it is "one of 10" (but yes, you know, the famous lists...). Everything is bathed in an atmosphere surranée and frivolous a strange and captivating beauty, a kind of poetic melancholy... Redford is sublimissime. Mia Farrow is perfect. Everything is a success : decorations, lights, dialogues, use of the voice over (narrator)... and it is a real movie "bobby", if one wants to consider this... For those who have read the book of Fitzgerald, no bad surprise. The spirit of this major work is there, with all the finesse required. On Sale Suncast Commercial Metal:
Very great! one of the best restoration on a film is a bit old, also it gives him a second youth, even if the film remains a masterpiece, he must admit, the pace is a little slack in the knee, but inherent in this type of film and at the time or it was turned, a pity that the restoration and sublime the image has not its equivalent in the audio, the track vf is poor, without large-scale, draught, prefer by far the vo... bréf a beautiful film in a beautiful setting.... In 1959, Howard Hawks signed this masterpiece that one does not get tired to review. Direction of the actors and the simplicity of the scenario makes this western urban a staple of the genre (here are no parades or indian warlike). The history passes in the second plan, and one understands quickly what interested Hawks: the characters in character well-defined and well-tempered: a Wayne imperial (one can't imagine anyone else in the sheriff both fragile and strong), Dean Martin in broken man or, Angie Dickinson in she was a strong woman (and not a foil in distress). The dialogues are excellent, and all the salt in the film comes from there. Rio Bravo is part of these movies immortal like some of the John Ford (The searchers, for example) whose name alone filled with joy of the viewers who will have kept a bit of her soul of a child.Suncast Commercial Metal Reviews:
Edition of high technical quality. Big downside: no subtitles for the commentary of the film by John Carpenter: a roof when we know the cult that committed the director of "Assault" to Hawks. Warner persists and signs to make fun of the French-speaking consumer.. Ransom Stoddard (James Stewart) and his wife (Vera Miles) came to attend the funeral of Tom Doniphon (John Wayne). Stoddard, who became a prominent politician, tells a young journalist his youth and his arrival in the West... Despite a classic scenario, but with a lucidity that is incredible, this western turns out to be a description to the scalpel of the american culture and its aspects political, civic or social. John Ford also insists on the profound dichotomy exists between the Is legalistic and the West, subject to the law of the strongest. As well, Ford brush a film of melancholy, disenchanted, and twilight on the History of the United States, constituting the true swan song of a major kind of cinema to US to know the western.
